May Day Bits

I am thrilled to have three poems in the newly-published anthology Drawn To Marvel: Poems from the Comic Books from Minor Arcana Press. It's an honor to share bookspace with Lucille Clifton, Sherman Alexie, Maureen Seaton, Denise Duhamel, D.A. Powell, Dorianne Laux, Jeannine Hall Gailey, Evan J. Peterson, Jessie Carty, Tara Betts, Christopher Hennessy and so many other favorites. Many thanks to editors Bryan D. Dietrich and Marta Ferguson for such a gorgeous book. You can order the book at this link.

I have a new poem at Kentucky Review called "The Woman With Glass In Her Face." It riffs on the old disaster flick Earthquake and is part of a series I'm writing about women in film.

The launch party and reading for Electronic Corpse: Poems from a Digital Salon is Saturday, May 3, 4:15 p.m. at poem 88 gallery at 1100 Howell Mill, Suite A04. I'll be reading from the anthology along with editor M. Ayodele Heath, Theresa Davis, Rupert Fike, Sharan Strange, Jon Goode, Teri Elam and many more. More details at the Facebook invite.

On May 14, I'll be leading a social media workshop for artists at Decatur Market & Gallery, 153 Ponce de Leon Place, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This workshop is learning about the basics and what social media platform will work best for you. More details at this link.

I'll have information about some events coming later in May and June as well as a big reading in London in September. Stay tuned!
