Wings of Desire at 20

It's hard to believe that Wim Wenders' masterpiece is 20 years old. The film still moves me like no other, mainly because it's pure poetry. From the script to the visuals of a still-divided Berlin, Wenders created a love poem to his city. If you have never seen Der Himmel Uber Berlin, as it's titled in Germany, do yourself a favor and put it at the top of your list. For more about the film, visit Wenders' site at this link.

Coll, thank you for the reminder--if this film were fabric, it'd be delicate gossamer....
I'll havta get it and play it for Hansoo, who's never seen it...
An amazing moment in cinema. Thanks for the post, Collin.

This is one of Annie's and Brenda's favorite films. They introduced it to me.

I remember when I first saw this back in 1987. I can't believe it's been 20 years either. My high school reunion is next year, which boggles my mind.
Which ANNIVERSARY of your High School Graduation is it?
I've already attended 3(!)Anniversaries of mine...
